Rising demand for smart manufacturing and factory upgrades
As companies automate production lines, demand is growing for fully licensed factories with high ceilings, strong floor loading and ample power capacity.
Taichung Industrial Park Guide
Located where Xitun and Nantun districts meet, Taichung Industrial Park is one of central Taiwan's longest-established and most complete industrial zones. This guide covers location, industry clusters and key considerations for companies planning a factory or industrial office in Taichung.
1970s
The government planned Taichung Industrial Park to drive industrial growth in central Taiwan, developing it in phases and attracting manufacturers.
1980s–1990s
Machinery, hardware and metalworking firms moved in, forming a key base for central Taiwan's precision machinery supply chain.
2000s
Demand for electronic components, automation equipment and R&D offices grew, and factories evolved into combined factory-office spaces.
Recent years
Companies are adopting smart manufacturing, ESG and green energy, driving demand for modern, fully licensed, high-ceiling spaces with three-phase power.
Taichung is a globally important machine tool and precision machinery cluster with a complete supply chain, making parts sourcing and subcontracting easy.
A dense network of stamping, CNC machining and surface treatment suppliers, ideal for manufacturers that rely on local partners.
Growing demand for automation, controls and electronic assembly suits factory-offices that combine production and R&D.
Close to freeways and expressways, well suited to regional distribution centers, parts warehousing and export staging.
Taichung Industrial Park sits at a transport hub in western Taiwan with easy access north, south and to the port, making it an ideal base to serve central Taiwan and the whole island.
Close to National Freeway 1, the Freeway 3 network and the Taichung–Changhua Expressway, with easy truck access.
Taichung Port is central Taiwan's main international commercial port, convenient for importing materials and exporting goods.
Taichung HSR Station and Taichung International Airport are within a reasonable drive for visiting clients and overseas managers.
